Biosphere Keos is a comprehensive creative project of KEOS CULTURE which is implemented by the Municipality of Kea. Its main activity is the organization and curation of exhibits on the cultural and natural heritage of the island.
Η έκθεση«Τόποι- Μνημεία- Άνθρωποι» πραγματοποιήθηκε στο πλαίσιο του θεσμού Βιόσφαιρα Κέας 2020 παρουσιάζοντας φωτογραφικά τεκμήρια από τη Φωτοθήκη Δήμου Κέας. Η έκθεση αποτύπωσε την ιστορία 80 σχεδών χρόνων της Κέας, καθώς το φωτογραφικό υλικό που παρουσιάστηκε εκτείνεται χρονικά από τα τέλη του 19ου αιώνα μέχρι την δεκαετία του 1980.
Οι φωτογραφίες ταξινομήθηκαν και εκτέθηκαν χρονολογικά σε τρεις ενότητες. Το υλικό συνοδεύτηκε με επεξηγηματικά κείμενα και λεζάντες από τους κατόχους των οικογενειακών συλλογών, από συγγραφείς και πανεπιστημιακούς που έχουν ασχοληθεί με τη σχετική θεματολογία, καθώς και από ανθρώπους που με την προφορική τους μαρτυρία συνέβαλλαν στην τεκμηρίωσή του. Η διατήρηση της ιστορικής μνήμης είναι ιδιαιτέρως σημαντική, αφού η τοπική κοινωνία θα θυμηθεί, η νεότερη γενιά θα μάθει και οι επισκέπτες θα μυηθούν στην πολιτιστική κληρονομιά του τόπου μας.

The photo exhibition entitled «Places- Monuments -People», which takes place within the framework of the Biosphere Keos project, includes photographic evidence from the Municipality of Kea Photo Archive Library. The exhibition depicts 80 years history of Kea, whereas the photo material presented extends from the late 19th century to the 1980s. The photos were classified and are presented chronologically in three thematic groups. The material is accompanied by explanatory texts with captions by the owners of the family collections, by writers and academics who have worked on relevant topics, as well as by people who with their oral statements contributed to its documentation. Preserving the historical memory is particularly important so that the local community will remember, the younger generation will learn and visitors will be introduced into the cultural heritage of our place.
